It all started on Tuesday December 4, 2012. I stepped out onto my front porch around 5:30pm with my friend Gina. It was dark and quiet, and the moment we stepped out the owl called. We both turned silently toward each other and smiled. The owl was directly across the street in the tall pine trees. Since that time and mostly over the last two weeks, owls have been appearing to me everywhere I go. At first I was thinking – “Wow, an owl pillow – how pretty!” Then one thing led to another and I am seeing owls every where I go. I started taking pictures a week ago Friday, December 14, and now I have a collection of owls images to share. Beyond that, I looked up the spiritual symbolism to better understand what I may be missing since all I am seeing are owls! Here is what I discovered….
To our past ancestors, the animal held great spiritual power and symbolic meaning. In Native American culture, mythology and ancient civilizations, each animal is embodied with its own symbolic meaning and held its own unique spiritual power. ~ A particular animal crossing your path had deep significance to your life and indeed a strong message to impart. The presence of animal wisdom may appear to you in a dream, on the physical plane or intuitively. We can also utilize and tap into the energy of animal guides around us to assist us in the daily challenges that life some times brings to our door. By calling forth the energy and spirit of a particular animal guide. We can ask that we be imbued with the energy and strength. Endowed with the character and special abilities that is unique to that animal. ~ Utilizing that energy to assist us in general life, or in a specific situation that we may be facing.
Owl : bringer of wisdom. All-seeing, possessing supernatural qualities associated with intuition and clairvoyance. Owl’s energy is at its peak in the very heart of darkness – penetrating the darkest night – seeing and hearing that which others cannot. Owl is a magical, enigmatic and powerful creature of the forest.
It is said that f you are aware of the owl’s presence in your life, waking or dreaming, you are being called upon to open your eyes, ears and mind to the truth of a situation. To listen to the wisdom deep in your heart and soul. That inner voice is trying to reach you in some way. By calling on your own intuition you tap into the power of the owl. Listen to your own wisdom. There is something you need to see or hear.
